El Paisano Skatepark

Paisano is a DIY, grassroots skatepark project started by some skaters of El Paso. As with many other DIY skateboarding projects, this has been completely community funded and driven. Our goal before the project had even started was to teach, share, and learn concrete Skatepark building techniques with the local community.

We plan to transform the space with the sculptural concrete of The Skatepark as well as with art from local artists. Thankfully, the City(governmental and local citizens)sees our vision for this space as well. The City of El Paso has been very supportive and so has The Texas Department of Transportation. The project was started on September 17, 2019.

Negotiations are currently underway between the City of El Paso, TXDoT, and the skaters who have made this project possible. A design has been submitted to the engineers as of June 2021. This design will fill the proposed area:

Once the proposal goes through, this will be the first approved DIY in the State of Texas. At this point we await permitting and licensing to continue construction. Once the contracts are signed and we are issued the constitution permits, it's go time!

We are accepting donations again for the project. We can use all the support and help we can get! We will also have volunteer opportunities available, that will hopefully go towards community service hours.

If you can't help physically, but would still like to help in some way you can donate to our Go Fund Me account. You can also check out our Paisano Shop. All profits from the Paisano Shop go into the construction and logistics for the Paisano DIY Project. Stay posted for more information. We will put out the "Bat-Signal" once it's time to get back out there. Thank you to everyone who has supported in anyway and made this dream a possibility! Here's to a future of skating in the shade, out of the rain, under the Paisano Overpass!
