About

Phlitch is a Skateboarding Company and Community from El Paso, Texas. At the core, Phlitch embraces the DIY ethos. From pressing skateboards, to building ramps, to pouring concrete parks, Phlitch is about Skateboarding to the core. This is a lifestyle, not a trend.

Where does our name come from and how do you pronounce it?

The word "flitch" describes the way a log is sliced to produce slabs or veneers. It is a wood working term. A skateboard deck is technically a flitch beam, although most boards are made with a rotary veneer process these days. Think about slicing a loaf of bread. If you were to place the loaf of bread and slice it perpendicular to the standard way, those slices would be considered "flitches" of wood. The "Ph" in Phlitch comes from the founder, Philip Sullivan's first name. Phlitch was originally founded as Flitch in 2013, with the goal to press skateboards. The picture at the top is our first board press that we made in 2013.

As well as making decks, accessories, and recycled skateboard products, we also build custom ramps and parks. If you would like a private or public ramp or concrete park built, send us a message under Contact. Thank you! We look forward to building your dream backyard setup!
